Spark - haiku
My mind, it ignites
I follow my own embers
And they lead to you
Contract
The universe is expanding
So why am I sinking?
It’s got me thinking
Reality is shrinking
Speck
I am the wind through the trees
In no hurry of need
I am the water on the sand
It stirs as I land
I am a leaf on the branch
Is this an avalanche?
I am a grain in the wave
Forever displaced
Hippie's testament
When I die I want to be an ocean wave:
Let that be my grave,
And my incarnation -
A soul that’s reached fruition
2024-2025
I stared into the void and it stared back ❃ 🫣

The Shape of Things
Why does the shape of things matter?
Slicing a boiled egg makes it taste better?
Spaghetti, linguine, bucatini,
Experience is tethered to variety
A curve in her eyebrow
I still think about now
How come that yawn
Felt warm, like a sunny lawn?
The flow of one story or chat
Divides between this and that
I gaze at this snowy peak
Silently, it answers questions I seek
With its shape we’re drawn in
Awaiting an encore, again and again
Carpe Diem's Ghost
When I think of my finest moments
Smooth maneuvers and big waves caught
I was selfless
Not bogged down in thought
Thinking at all the right speeds
Like on a string, stacking beads
But sometimes there is no play
Dare I say often
Squirming is the brain
When nothing happens
“Find something to do”
And you won’t be blue
Release the ghost
It’ll achieve the most
Vicarious Vice
I sit at home
yet live a thousand lives
A bath of media overload
Buzzing like a hive
For my ear, more love songs
Feelings on streaming
In my eyes, more fun
On my mind: nothing
You can douse the flame
daily
Or reject the same
and flee
Growing Fast and Slow (dual haiku)
(1)
Slow growth works the best
When the reps are so lightweight
That it barely stings
(2)
Fast growth needs a tip -
Or trick - to bring on a click
That sticks, forever
Spot Check
There’s nothing like a good cruise
No, not the boat!
The act of driving through
Checking which zone is firing the most
Sometimes there’s slower days
That’s when I spark the J
Windows down, blasting reggae
A mellow stoke permeates
I park by the spot
Waves in front like a drive in
Right on the dot
A set wave and its kin
The menu is bigger when solo
Myriad options to observe
Still doesn’t beat a crew though
On a psychedelic treadmill, sharing the surf
